Platoon’s Leanne Hainsby, 35, diagnosed with breast cancer

Peloton’s Leanne Hainsby has been quietly battling breast cancer since August, she announced on social media on Friday.

Hainsby described in detail the treatments she underwent after a doctor first rejected the lump she discovered and shared that she has undergone 12 weeks of chemotherapy and will begin radiation.

“I would conduct my LIVE classes on Wednesday mornings, then meet my mom and go to the treatment room for my weekly dose (among other medications as part of my treatment plan),” she wrote.

“Chemo is no joke. Cold caps are no joke.”

The British fitness sensation also revealed that she underwent surgery and then had her portacath (a device that is installed in the body to perform the treatment) removed.

“Treatment for me will take a long time, hospital visits are the norm and I’m focusing on step by step,” she wrote. “I feel very lucky to have my treatment private. The nurses and doctors are incredible, and I wouldn’t be here without them.”

Hainsby, 35, also shared that she and her fiancé, fellow Peloton instructor Ben Alldis, had the opportunity to complete a round of IVF ahead of her beginning chemo.

“We were not mentally prepared but we made it happen and we are so grateful,” she wrote.

Hainsby, who shared photos of herself dressed in the aforementioned cold hats, hopes that by sharing her diagnosis she can spread awareness and encourage others to always seek second opinions.

“I’m almost six months further. I’m in fantastic hands, and I got this,” she shared. “Nobody wants to sit in a room and be told they have cancer, and yet I’ve always felt like one of the lucky ones. I am one of the lucky ones.”

“You gain a strength you never knew you had, and you keep moving forward,” she wrote. “Strong, as healthy as possible and powerful.”

He continued, “To, as you would say, sparkling days ahead and living our healthiest and happiest lives using the myriad lessons this past year has taught us.

“I love you Leanne💙Your shining light on this world shines brighter than ever✨.”
